Associate Theology

The Associate Degree in Theology program at the Himalayan Diaspora Academy (HiDA) provides students with a solid foundation in Biblical studies and theology. This program is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue ministry and leadership roles in their communities. Students will learn about the history and interpretation of the Bible, Christian theology, and practical ministry skills. The program is delivered fully online and can be completed in two years.

This course is an in-depth study of the book of Acts in the Bible. Students will examine the historical and theological significance of the events described in Acts, including the early church's growth and the work of the apostles. The course will cover topics like the Holy Spirit's role in the early church, the spread of the gospel, and the importance of community in the church. Students will be expected to read assigned portions of Acts and participate in discussions and submit assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a deeper understanding of the events and themes of Acts and their significance for Christians today.

This course explores the Fruit of the Spirit as described in the Bible, which include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Students will learn how to apply these virtues in their everyday lives and relationships. The course covers topics such as biblical interpretation, personal growth, and practical applications of the Fruit of the Spirit. Through readings, discussions, and reflections, students will develop a deeper understanding of how to embody these qualities as followers of Christ.

The Gift of the Spirit course explores the biblical understanding of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they apply to the church today. Students will learn about the different types of spiritual gifts, how to identify their own gifts, and how to effectively use them for ministry. Through this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit and its role in the life of a believer.

This course focuses on the theology of the Apostle Paul, providing an overview of his key teachings and beliefs. Students will learn about the cultural and historical context in which Paul wrote his letters. The course will cover important topics like justification by faith, grace, and the Holy Spirit. The class format for this course will consist of watching video lectures, completing quizzes, and submitting assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a deeper understanding of Pauline theology and its significance for Christian faith and practice.

This course provides an introduction to Christian worship practices and their biblical foundations. Students will learn about the significance of worship, explore different styles of worship, and develop their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of worship leaders. They will also study the history of Christian worship and its evolution over time. This course includes practical components such as planning and leading worship service

The course will cover important topics like the early beginnings of Christianity in Nepal, the arrival of Western missionaries, and the growth of the Church in modern times. By the end of the course, students should have a deeper understanding of the history of the Nepali Church and how it has influenced Nepali society today.
