The Himalayan Diaspora Academy (HiDA) offers a Diploma in Theology degree to individuals who are involved in church and ministry in various capacities. This degree do not require high school degree. This course is designed to help students deepen their understanding of the Bible. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to explore the scriptures in detail and gain a deeper appreciation for their significance. Upon completion of the program, students will have a strong foundation in their faith and be equipped with the knowledge and skills to serve as leaders in their communities.

Course Syllabus

This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments. Students will explore the historical and cultural background of the Bible, the themes and teachings of each book, and the overall narrative of salvation history. The course includes an in-depth study of key passages and characters, as well as an examination of the literary styles and genres of each book.

This course provides an overview of the New Testament, including its history, culture, and theology. Students will read and analyze selected texts, such as the Gospels, Acts, Paul's letters, and Revelation. The course will explore major themes and narratives, and how they are relevant today. The class format for this course will consist of watching video lectures, completing quizzes, and submitting assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a deeper understanding of the New Testament and its significance for their faith and personal growth.

This course focuses on the book of Romans, providing an overview of its key themes and teachings. Students will learn about the cultural and historical context in which the book was written. The course will cover important topics like sin, salvation, and the righteousness of God. The class format for this course will consist of watching video lectures, completing quizzes, and submitting assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a deeper understanding of the book of Romans and its significance for Christian faith and practice.

This course teaches basic financial principles based on biblical values. Students will learn practical skills for managing their finances, such as budgeting and investing. The course will cover important topics like debt management, giving, and stewardship. The class format for this course will consist of watching video lectures, completing quizzes, and submitting assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of how to manage their money wisely and in accordance with biblical principles.

This course is an overview of the first five books of the Old Testament, known as the Pentateuch. Students will learn about the content, themes, and literary structure of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The course will cover important topics like the creation account, the patriarchs, the exodus, and the giving of the law. Students will be expected to read assigned portions of the Pentateuch and participate in class discussions and submit assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of the historical and theological significance of these books.

This course provides an overview of the historical books of the Old Testament, including Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. Students will learn about the history of Israel, the reign of the kings, and the nation's exile and return. The course will cover important themes like leadership, faithfulness, and obedience. Students will be expected to read assigned portions of the historical books and participate in class discussions and submit assignments. By the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of the history and theology of these books.

This course is an introduction to the Wisdom Literature of the Bible, which includes books such as Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. Students will learn how to interpret and apply the wisdom literature to their daily lives. The course will cover themes such as God's sovereignty, human suffering, the fear of the Lord, and the pursuit of wisdom. The class format may include lectures, readings, and discussions.

The course Major Prophets will explore the writings of the major prophets of the Old Testament, including Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Students will learn about the historical context, message, and themes of each prophet's writings, as well as their relevance to contemporary Christian life. Course format includes video lectures, quizzes, and assignments.

The course will introduce students to the twelve books of the Minor Prophets in the Old Testament. Students will learn about the historical and cultural context of these prophetic books, as well as their messages and themes. Topics covered will include God's judgement and mercy, social justice, and the coming of the Messiah. The class format may include lectures, discussions, and assignments aimed at helping students gain a deeper understanding of these often-overlooked books of the Bible.
